Lorrie Harrington
stained glass, mosaics
A native Texas, Lorrie Harrington has been creating her stunning glass artworks for over 30 years. When she moved to Rockport in 1992, she showed her work at the legendary Estelle Stair Gallery. With encouragement from her husband Rex and gallery owner, Jimmie Bouldin, she opened her own downtown glass studio and gallery, running it with her husband for 12 years.

Now Lorrie devotes her time to studio work for Wind Way Gallery and private commissions. Always active in the community art scene, Lorrie was instrumental in gaining recognition for stained glass as a fine art form for regional shows and exhibits.

"The hardest challenge in glass is trying to match the available glass colors to nature's colors. I find I have to take extra care when making birds or fish because everyone here on the coast is so knowledgeable about nature that they'll immediately notice if I don't get them right. Just when I have the colors perfect, someone will say, 'you know during mating season or during the fall, that color changes.'"
