Genie Mysorski
pottery
Genie Mysorski showcases pottery pieces that include hand-turned stoneware decorated with festive colors and coastal themes along with red earthenware vases that combine hand-building and wheel-throwing techniques. The vases show the contrast between the bare surfaces of the clay and glazed areas and they stand out as refreshing centerpieces.

Genie learned the techniques of the potter’s wheel while studying Art at Southwest Texas State University in San Marcos, TX. After graduation, she continued creating pottery with many artistic and skilled potters from across Texas at the Southwest Craft Center in San Antonio and in the different communities where she and her family have lived. It is very easy to see how visits to Port Aransas have influenced her designs.

Recently retired as the 4th and 5th grade art teacher in Aransas County ISD, Genie is devoting more time to her pottery making and she is excited to exhibit her wares at the Windway Gallery.
